The best stories start at 30,000 feet.

2Seat connects solo travelers heading the same direction, then books their tickets together with guaranteed adjacent seats. No coordinating after the fact. No seat lottery. Works for flights, trains, buses, and ferries.

  • Solo travelers matched
  • Planes, trains, buses, ferries
  • Pay only when both agree
  • Adjacent seats guaranteed

Every travel dating app has the same flaw.

They assume you've already booked the same flight, then match you with someone else who happened to book it too. But then what? You have to hope the airline seats you nearby, scramble to upgrade at the gate, or pay change fees to move next to a stranger you just matched with.

That's not a product. That's wishful thinking.

The old way vs. the 2Seat way

The Old Way

  • Person A books their own flight
  • Person B books their own flight, separately
  • You match after — if you even match
  • Different days, different seats
  • You have to coordinate after booking
  • Seat assignments decided by the airline, not by you

The 2Seat Way

  • Person A posts a trip intent
  • Person B posts a trip intent
  • You match on intent first
  • 2Seat books adjacent seats together, same confirmation
  • Same flight, adjacent seats guaranteed
  • 2Seat handles the booking

Five steps from stranger to seatmate.

  1. 1

    Post your route

Tell us where you're going and roughly when — no ticket required to start, just a destination and a vibe. Plane, train, bus, or ferry.

  2. 2

    Match on intent

Browse travelers heading the same direction. Filter by transport type, travel dates, and what they're looking for — short-term travel companion or something more.

  3. 3

    Agree on a budget

Negotiate a ticket budget in-app. Propose a number. Once you both agree, the booking can happen — no awkward money conversations mid-flight.

  4. 4

    Pay independently, book together

Both of you submit payment independently. 2Seat books both tickets on the same flight with adjacent seats guaranteed. Neither person is exposed, neither can pay and get ghosted — funds are held until both commit.

  5. 5

    Take off together

Get a booking confirmation with your seat numbers. Same row, side by side.

Why adjacent seats are the whole point.

Anyone can say “find someone on the same flight.” What nobody else makes structurally impossible is being separated — because 2Seat purchases both tickets in the same booking transaction, requesting adjacent seats directly from the carrier. Row 22A/22B, not 22A/14C.

  • Single booking transaction
  • Adjacent seat request built in
  • Same confirmation code
  • Refunded if no match clears

Not just flights.

Flights

Long-hauls, red-eyes, transatlantic connections.

Trains

Scenic routes, overnight sleepers, high-speed rail.

Buses

Road trips, overnight coaches, budget routes.

Ferries

Island crossings, coastal routes, open water.

Every trip is tagged with intent.

Not everyone's looking for the same thing — and that's the point.

Seatmate romance

A short-term spark bounded by the trip itself — flirty company for the journey, zero expectations once you land.

Travel romance

More than a one-leg spark, but still bounded by the travel — real emotional investment for the length of a longer trip, even if it doesn't continue once you're both home.

Long-term relationship

Open to it going the distance. The trip is just how you met — you're looking for someone who might stick around well past baggage claim.

You can select more than one — or set your profile default to “open” and see everyone.

How the payment works — and why it's safe.

  1. 1

    Budget agreed

You negotiate a per-ticket price in-app. Nothing is charged yet.

  2. 2

    Both pay independently

Each person submits their payment separately. Funds are held. If either side never pays, yours is refunded automatically.

  3. 3

    Booking triggers

The moment both payments clear, we book both tickets in a single transaction — adjacent seats on the same flight.

No ghost risk.

Because booking requires both payments, there's no scenario where one person has a ticket and the other doesn't. Either both of you fly together, or neither booking happens.

Frequently asked questions

What if I already have a flight booked?+

2Seat books both tickets together as part of matching, so it works best if you haven't booked yet. Post your route and dates, and we'll take it from there once you match.

What stops someone from bailing after one person pays?+

Nothing gets booked until both people pay. If your match never pays their share, your payment is refunded automatically — no ticket is ever purchased with only one side committed.

How does 2Seat make money?+

We add a small service fee on top of the ticket price at booking time, shown before you pay.

Can I specify a particular airline or train operator?+

Not yet — for now, matching is based on route, dates, and transport type. Carrier preference is on our roadmap.

Is this just for romantic connections?+

No. Every profile and trip is tagged with intent — short-term travel companion or something more — so you can filter for either, or set your preference to open and see everyone.

What transports are supported?+

Flights, trains, buses, and ferries.

Your next great story is waiting at the gate.

Post your route. Find your match. Let us handle the seats. The only thing left to do is show up.
